terms
terms
short, in plain english. binding when you purchase a product, but not surprising.
what you’re buying
each dfma.tools listing sells a license to use a specific software product under terms set by that product’s author. licenses are typically perpetual: one-time payment unlocks the current major version forever, including all minor updates within that major version.
your license is described in detail in the license file you receive after purchase. the file specifies: which product, which version range, what type (perpetual / trial / subscription), expiration if any.
warranty disclaimer
products listed on dfma.tools are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
each product’s individual documentation lists its known limitations. read those before buying. the “what it isn’t” section on every product page exists specifically so you can self-select away from the wrong tool for your job.
limitation of liability
to the maximum extent permitted by law, dfma.tools and the product author are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) any product. our maximum aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
translation: a product malfunctions, your fab work goes sideways – our financial exposure is your purchase price, not your downstream costs. we recommend you sanity-check any output from any tool against your own domain expertise before committing real material or labor.
refunds
see refund policy. short version: 14 days, no questions, full refund.
license sharing and piracy
your license is for your personal or shop use. you can install on your multiple workstations. you cannot redistribute, resell, or share the license file with people who didn’t purchase it.
we do not implement node-locked DRM. determined people can copy license files or patch out validation. we accept this and price our products fairly so that buying is the path of least resistance for honest users. license sharing in violation of these terms is unauthorized use, but we’d rather earn your trust than enforce it.
changes to products
minor releases (1.1, 1.2, etc.) are free updates included with your purchase. major releases (2.0, 3.0, etc.) ship as paid upgrades, with a discount typically offered to existing buyers.
a product may be discontinued. if so: existing licenses remain valid indefinitely. you keep your downloaded copy. no remote disablement.
changes to these terms
we may update these terms. the version in effect at time of purchase governs that purchase. material changes are noted on this page with a date.
